How to Shave Her… Down There…
So you’d like your lady to be a little smoother down there, and you’re more than happy to help her get smooth. But you have no idea how to do it.
Well, you’ve come to the right place. Shaving a woman is very different from shaving yourself. Women are built differently; their skin generally more sensitive and so shaving her mound is very different from shaving your face.
So, what’s it all about? It’s about comfort, safety and sexiness. Yes, there’s a real element of sex when you shave a woman, and the two of you might enjoy some of your best sex ever after she’s shaved… and you’re undoubtedly turned on.

Genital Shaving 101
First, don’t take your razor to her privates and assume that’s going to be just fine. You should have the following items handy at your side.
- A woman’s razor (non electric);
- women’s shaving cream (something that’s formulated for sensitive skin);
- a light moisturizer.
Now, it’s best to do this in the shower or bathtub. Let her soak in the bath water, or get nice and wet under the shower. This helps to open her pores and makes it less likely that you’ll cut her or she’ll experience any discomfort afterwards.
Of course, taking a shower or bath together can also lead to things other than shaving, so enjoy that. I sure won’t mind if you put off the shaving for another time!
If you don’t want to do this in the tub or shower, you can shave her while she’s lying on the bed. Be sure to place a blanket or towel down first, and have a bowl of warm water nearby. This might be more comfortable for her, and it might be easier for you to really see what you’re doing (and enjoy the view at the same time).
Safety First
Remember that shaving her is not like shaving yourself. You are shaving her most private and sensitive area, so it’s critical that you remember to keep a light touch and shave first WITH the hair and then AGAINST the hair. This will ensure that you shave the hair right down to the quick, but you don’t irritate the area while doing it.
Although we’ll go into some step-by-step tips in a minute, it’s important to remind you that when you get near her lips, you must be very careful. That’s some of the most sensitive skin on a woman’s body and it can easily get nicked or cut.
Genital Shaving is Sexy!
For many couples, shaving is a form of foreplay and can lead to a fun time in bed afterwards so be sure to add some sexiness to the act of shaving her.
You might caress her before you begin shaving. Kiss her and finger her a bit. As you shave her, make meaningful eye contact and gently caress her legs, her behind, and her thighs. Tell her how beautiful she is.
Now, as to the actual shaving…
- Make sure you have all your needed items at hand.
- Decide where you want to do this – bathtub or shower, or on the bed.
- If she hasn’t shaved in some time, use small scissors to first trim away the longer bits of hair before you begin shaving.
- Apply a small amount of women’s shaving cream, being careful not to let any get into her vagina, where it could cause irritation or an infection.
- Begin shaving with the growth of the hair first. Then go back and shave against the growth of the hair. You’ll get more hair when you shave against the growth, as you likely know, but it’s best to start by shaving with the growth of the hair, and then going against. This helps you adjust to the feel of shaving a woman’s mound and it gets rid of some hair right off the top. Keep alternating to get the cleanest shave.
- Once you have cleaned the bulk of the area up, head inside her lips just a bit. A few stray hairs can remain, and to shave them you should be very gentle and detail-oriented. Just carefully shave them out so that her entire area is smooth and clean.
- Put a small amount of moisturizing lotion on your hand and hold it there for a minute to get warm, and then gently slather this on your woman’s area.
- From here, you can do whatever suits you. For many couples, a clean and smooth mound is a sexy mound, so have some fun with it!
